Good move - they are terrible!!

Makes you wonder how much it must have amused MS to drop one big one on Sony doesn't it ? Well deserved too.

A company called Sunbelt Software just recently got into trouble for claiming some software (Spymon) is spyware . Will be interesting to see how this MS/Sony business pans out.....

So, Symantec and "the big antivirus companies" already knew about the rootkit? According to this statement, it seems they did. Are they then liable as well as Sony? [...] Does that mean that Microsoft knew also and was complicit, deliberately ignoring the rootkit?

The whole thing disgusts me, and I refuse to have anything else to do with Sony (or Microsoft, or Symantec, or ...).

There's a difference between Sony and Sony BMG.

Yah, well check out the end-user licence agreement, also of Sony BMG fame, which is EVEN MORE EVIL
