knowing how domesticated we all are (*waves to Jeannie*), I'm going to offer my best ever blood Tip, gained when I had a flatmate who used to suddenly and unexpectedly get the most appalling nosebleeds, which is: Rinse anything bloodstained in COLD water rather than hot water. Hot water will only set the blood rather than get it out.
