Well, we use aspirin that you can buy over the counter, so I think the standard dose for a 'headache' aspirin is 300mg.
Lots of preparations have aspirin and something else (caffine, paracetamol, dexasomethingorother) So that may be why the weights don't quite match up. I think if you look at the ingredients the tablet will have 300mg aspirin.
Of course I may be wrong.
