Landmarks are extremely useful, and yes, they do often get passed on to us as there is capacity for the call-taker to enter free-text in the address box, which is where they'll put landmark details.
And posting people out to flag us down really does help save time getting to the patient. We can often get some idea of how bad a patient is based on whether there is actually someone to flag us down. Of course, that does tend to be over-egged sometimes.
