By first responder I meant a civilian volunteer who has done about eight hours first aid and AED training and responds in their own car / bike. Lancashire has a number of such volunteers covering rural areas. They can get to their local area quicker than an ambulance from a town 10 miles away. No offence to cycle/car/horse mounted professionals. Nigel
