There's noting you can do for the foetus, and no doubt all the parent(s) want is a little simple human compassion. Not perhaps the right place, but reading this has brought back to me the wonderful compassion of an ambulance driver in Australia, immediately after the accident in which my mother was killed. (The car caught fire after the crash.) I was the one who stayed calm, and managed everything at the scene as much as it could be managed - although of course I was in a degree of shock - and leaving it I rode in front with the ambulance driver while his mate was in the back with my father. He reached out and took my hand, and held it most of the way to the hospital - no doubt breaking regulations, but that meant an enormous amount to me at that moment. Natalie
