I have known a certain large hospital on the outskirts of Liverpool to have several ambulances unable to go back out because their last patient is still on the ambulance trolley in A &E as there are not enough trolleys inside the hospital to accommodate them. How on earth can we be in such a mess in the allegedly civilised 21st century!!
