Re: Kill All Old People!
by
Morticiah
I don't normally post messages to Blogs (so be gentle with me) but ...
I worked as an Undertaker for many years ... and my beloved Hubbie still does.
On a negative side: Some of the 'removals' we get from Nursing Home's are just ...... awful! I guess that Undertakers probably visit Nursing/Residential homes far more often than Ambulance crew!!
You just know that untrained, ignorant staff have 'allowed' things to happen!
A recent call out to a Home revealed a deceased person, who had MRSA and gangrene (imagine the smell). When my husband moved the screens around the room to make room for the stretcher, he discovered another resident lying in another bed!
The staff had left the resident in the room with a dead body! When questioned, the staff said it didn't matter because the alive resident had Alzheimers and didn't know what was going on!
Poor wages equals No training, no respect for humanity!
On a positive: my Gran lived in a residential home for years and couldn't have had better care from the well-trained professional staff. When her time came, she was looked after by loving caring staff ....
that was a few years ago ... It seems unusual nowadays
