"Over an hour is pushing a bit" For a broken toe? Sure the poor lad was in a lot of pain, but which calls would you prefer we hold while we "taxi" this lad to hospital? The heart attack? The severe asthma attack? The cardiac arrest? If the minor injuries unit had actually determined that the injury was serious, they would have rung for an ambulance there and then. And why take the boy home to call for an ambulance - why not ask the neighbour to drop them off at the hospital? The morphine was given for pain relief, and in no way implies the seriousness of the injury.
