especially when half the time the weapon used is a kitchen knife that you can buy perfectly legitimately in any shop with a cookware section. It's always, always down to how the person holding an item chooses to use it, whether it's a knife, a baseball bat, a hammer, a chainsaw, a candlestick in the library... They all have perfectly innocent and legitimate uses, but can also be used as weapons. The only exception I make is guns, as a gun has no actual use other than to kill, maim, injure or threaten.
