Re the drop quotes: in bloglines (and maybe generally on RSS?) they tend to confuse things, as they appear in plain text mid-way through the article. As a result, you get an uncanny feeling of déjà vu upon reading the same text again further on, as the quotes have broken up the continuity in the post! I think they detract from your high quality of writing.
