Oddly enough, here in the US we're not allowed to give Antihistamines (aka Benadryl), at least not at the Intermediate level. It's something I don't fully understand since there's not much of a clinical downside, and most people freely give them to any family member without worry. Epinephrine is only indicated with respiratory distress, so most times we ride to the ED and then the friendly nurse gives the patient Benadryl and says 'what, you didn't give them any Benadryl ?' (er, no - it's not in our protcols)...
