The difference is that, if I'm writing an email or a blog comment, I think about what I'm writing. I review it before posting and make sure I've said what I want to say as unambiguously as possible. I know that because we're not face-to-face, there's more chance of something being taken the wrong way. I'm probably talking bollocks anyway, but that's just me...
