I agree with Kittybif. I'm originally from Chicago, back when Chicago Public Schools were notorious for being horrible. I knew loads of Jewish kids that went to the Roman Catholic schools because the education was far superior to that found in the public (in the American sense) schools. I think that they had to pay higher tuition (because the Catholic kids' parents presumably put more in the collection plate, I had always been told), but they didn't seem to mind.
