If there were more culturally representative TV shows and films in English, people might watch them and pick stuff up faster. I heard something on the Today prog this morning about how a bus company are recruiting people from Poland, and have provided various DVDS to assist them with learning the various regional accents they might find in the UK. Apparently (it might have been tongue in cheek though) they've given them Only Fools and Horses to help them learn the London accent. Can't see that being much use!
