Hey Dan, Your post moved me as a mere reader..... "No parent should outlive their children" is a phrase which cuts (me) like a knife, so my hat off to you for having the courage to write your post. I was thinking about the "is it right...?" question for some time and the best answer I can see is that which you wrote - I agree that saying goodbye is important, we seem to need completion in some way.....so applause to you for an insightful and very personal viewpoint.
