Re: Increasing Calls
by
Angus Prune
I'm glad I wasn't the only reader who recommended your blog on the BBC forum: a lot of very stupid people on there with a 'gimme gimme gimme' attitude who need a smack round the head with a wet fish.
I would also agree that NHSDirect needs to be blamed: each time I have been on the receiving end of an ambulance visit has been because they have called them for me. The last time I had reflux, which always presents as high chest pain. I was in a town I didn't know, it was gone midnight on a Saturday, and I just called them up to see if they could advise me on where I might get my usual remedy. It didn't matter how much I insisted that I just needed to know where to buy Gaviscon, as soon as they heard 'chest pain', the call was made.
