I think the Pooh image does seem to work best here, but then Pooh can be applied to an awful lot of situations we find ourselves in everyday. Very archetypal. Doesn’t everyone put on a layer of fat in the winter to keep us warm through the dark snowy nights? Never mind the fact that I live in Atlanta, where a snowflake might sizzle if it ever made it to the ground. It must be something in our genes that drives us to eat extra cartons of ice cream and banish all thoughts of jogging once the leaves begin to fall in September. I have finally, after many long months, darkened the doorway of my own fitness center determined to get rid of my own pot belly. Only then will I feel good enough about myself when September rolls around to give it all up again.
