My father was just in a horrible accident six months ago, he had less than a 10% chance to make it. Unbelievably he did, though he still can't walk (though he improves everyday). This is the best thing that ever happened to him, his whole outlook on life has changed and now he is so thankful for every moment of life. It sounds a little corny, but I really believe everything happens for a reason, though we may not be able to see it.
