I've just done it - and discovered it's a problem with the URL on the confirmation email... instead of the following URL:
http://www.myostrichblog.com/users/index.cgi/cmd=confirm/key=yourconfirmationkeygoesherethingy
replace it with:
http://randomreality.blogware.com/users/index.cgi/cmd=confirm/key=yourconfirmationkeygoesherethingy
Worked for me!
