When I was an SJA cadet, I'd go out on duties and be really excited, hoping for something major, but all we ever got were cuts and grazes. ONE exciting thing happened, and the adults got to deal with it, leaving us to get the details from the patient's family so we could save the paras some work. >:(
But I got to do CPR for real yesterday! Unfortunately, I knew the patient, and even more unfortunately, she died. :( Still, at least I know what to expect now, but I'd much rather she just fell and broke her leg or something. That's easier to deal with, both emotionally and physically.
