There is no balanced information. If you quote a large, retrospective study that says homebirth is inherently safe for low risk women, you are then battered with some tiny, flawed foreign research that apparently negates all that. Physiologically, women tend to labour wherever they feel the safest; generally where there is good antenatal support that tends to be at home- where they feel supported. If they have been given NO information and just feel abandoned then they will not labour so well.
