Incidentally, since you link to Dr Crippen's lambasting of me for telling him he's wrong about a psychiatric patient he thought should be admitted, I expect somebody will want to know why I agree that your case should have been admitted but disagree with Dr Crippen's. The reason is that your patient was: 1. a risk to himself 2. a risk to others and 3, psychotic In Dr Crippen's case, the patient was, as far as we can tell, none of those three. Hence I think Dr Crippen is simply wrong.
