ROFL @ Ian - yes, I've been to places where you really feel you are offending them for not stopping for a 5 course meal.....
Reynolds - have you thought about keeping a pair of those awful plastic over-shoes to save you fretting about grubby boots on posh carpets? I know you have enough stuff to cart about but maybe?
