Wow, that was beautifully written all the more poignant for me because some 5 weeks ago a Paramedic was doing the same for my Mum. She wasn't drunk, the gales lifted her off her feet and she banged the back of her head sustaining a brain injury. She had an op to remove a brain clot and survived but sadly a subsequent hospital transfer of over a 100 miles seemed to take its toll and she is in a coma now. A random accident that has had devasting consequences for my Mum and my family. I hope that the Paramedic that looked after my Mum was as lovely as Tom, so she would have felt safe and not scared.
