I have once called a long distance ambulance, in fact l did not know it was possible till then. I was in Preston Lancs and the friend was in Oxford. I made sure that they (Elderly friend and her husband) knew the amb was on the way. She said she was no way going to hospital and l said nooo no one was going to do that just going to examine her. I figured that if what she had was what sounded from the description like a thrombus (post aus trip and many health problems) then that could be dumped onto the crew to sweet talk her into going in, l just wanted to make sure that she would let them examine her.
