Re: My Day

"Playing with some of the toys in the paediatric waiting room"? Not in my hospital. Following an infection control inspection, the toys AND books have been removed from the children's playroom in the outpatient eye clinic. These children are generally in good health, and I can't see any difference from the average playgroup. The nature of the examination means children may have to wait twice, to see two different people, and have to wait for at least 30 minutes if they have been given eye drops. The inspection team are considering removing magazines from the waiting room, but this is academic as only the totally deaf are able to ignore the screams of the bored children.
Best blog on the web, Tom - enjoy your holiday, and I hope you return ready to battle the NHS managers for many years to come.
