Chuck in the LAS job and join a busy US Fire Department - they all need EMT's, more trauma to keep you on your toes, twice the wage and great standard of living (and I don't mean materialistic stuff).
If you really get bored, then tranfer onto the ladder truck and smash things up for a living !
