Unfortunately, by the mere fact that this is a brilliant and sensible idea means there is no way the ambulance service will use it! Our service is currently trying to find a way around loan worker policy for the RRU. We have had new RRU's supplied so as we can carry patients who do not need an ambulance to A&E, but its not used because RRU tech's/paramedic's are not allow to transport patients on their own................. you would think the service will have thought of this before spending lots of money on shiny new RRU's!
