That is true - writing a novel isn't really something you can fit in between a full-time job (especially shift-based!) and writing a blog and...and..and...
You'd need to take a career-break, and if you did that you'd need to find a way of feeding and housing yourself while writing. Or just quit your life-sucking LAS job (fascinating though the reading makes it) and get some nice, cushy IT-based job that isn't slowly killing you.
But magical-realism or SF - I'd buy either :)
And if that's what you come up with stream-of-consciousness, then you are *definitely* in the wrong job, sunshine!
And enjoy the GBBF - some of my mates are going but I couldn't get leave :( I have to console myself with the European Feer Festival in Copenhagen in September. Not the same.
