The problem of security is obviously something to consider, but banks have managed it admirably. Banks manage it because the have some of the best security experts in the world working for them... on some of the highest salaries. And they don't manage it as admirably as you seem to believe , you just don't hear about it because its not in their interest to tell you or anybody else (including the police) when they have problems.
