I understand how the family felt as I am sure that if I was critically ill I would want a Paramedic their attending me ASAP. I would however prefer to have one operating at the peak of his abilities and that is not going to be the case if paramedics are overworked and not even able to take the limited breaks they are supposed to be allowed. If the system is so overstreatched that a Paramedic taking a break can be a life or death matter then I think that says a lot more about the inadequate number of Paramedics than anything else.
