The other point is that gun ownership is NOT a right. The bill of rights states that American citizens have "the right to bear arms, as part of an organized militia". All it means is that the citizens are allowed to arm themselves, in the defense of their state and country. This does not allow for private gun ownership. By the bill of rights there should be a central arsenal that members of the militia go to, not guns in members homes. The NRA regularly state the first part of the right, but forget about the second part, as it doesn't fit into what they want.
