Re: Training (Part Two)
by

Here here on both posts!
As a member of the front line who's only been out on the road 14 months I find the training shocking!
All the way from the 12 weeks in training school, where it's more "remember all this information for the first exam, then we'll overload you with more information for exam two so that you won't remember much of exam one's work, rinse and repeat for four exams". The they send you out on the road without any 'real life' experience on how the job is done, but hey I might remember what a torsade de pointes ecg might look like.
The for the first year I'll be sent too pick up time wasters of all walks of life, and have no check-up on how I'm doing as all the trainers are off the road with some new government babble. Then after a year, your first shift as a qualified Tech I'll guarantee you there will be a new starter waiting for you for their first shift, and then of course one of your first shouts will be a S**T a brick job, that you've never had any experience of, and you try to remember what they told you in a 15min presentation made with felt tip pens, how you save this person's life.
I could go on for hours, but simply put your damn right, infact I'd even go as far as saying you've underestimated how bad it is in such places as NWAS for lack of training.
