I think you have misread this post. I never say that mental illness isn't real. It's purpose was to show how depression and suicide can hit you even if you live in a part of the world where you never have 'nothing'. It's about how, when you are in the fits of depression, it drags you down to below the mood of people who really do have nothing. If I were to be ridiculing depression I'd be ridiculing myself after all.
