Re: Amber
by MT Waster
Ask any frontline staff and 'more ambulances' is the call. People don't seem to want to be educated about when to and when not to call 999. That, obviously, is a generalisation so don't take it as anything else. My wise (coff coff spluter) bosses want us mobile within 30seconds of being told of RED yet that RED could and usually is 20+ miles away! 30seconds may seem eas to many. It can be. 1. i you are in a vehicle 2. and whilst in the vehicle not needing a call of nature. Is sitting in an ambulance hour after hour healthy? Govts in Westminster set these targets with no thougt of whys and wherefores and practicalities and Scottish parliamnt and Welsh assembly say dib dib dib and have no more of an idea. The ambulance is a service NOT a business. It is, like the rest of the NHS, a moneypit. And AMPDS needs a desperate overhaul. Incident Report forms are going in a-plenty but nothing is done to address the issues.
