Tom, You make some very valid and important points and I agree entirely with your sentiments on public drunkenness and people wasting ambulance crews' time. However, I wonder if your job is just showing you the very worst of human nature. I also work in the frontline for the NHS and I am not nearly as demoralised or crushed as you sound in this particular post. Have you considered moving to a different area of healthcare where your skills could be put to better use?
