I have renal failure and chest problems and so if I get overloaded with fluid or I get a chest infection I go Tachicardic and have to be rescued by ambulence men.
I think that the London Ambulance staff are a bunch of life savers. The most I have had to wait for help was 25 minutes when I was ill at home during the rush hour.
That 25 seemed like a lifetime .. at the time. So I know just how you must have felt with your old lady.
