I could take a guess about midwives not being helpful, but it would be just that, a guess, as I've never had anything to do with midwives outside of London. And I have met a couple of good midwives, they aren't all bad. Try not to worry though, this was really unusual, which is why I mentioned it - remember, most of the assaults I go to are by people who know each other.
