You did the best you could: with ARF and K7.5 +/- DKA the cards were stacked against you all. Load and go was absolutely the right thing to do. It may have taken longer to reach the hospital than it should, but it you needed the lab data to do the right things. A miserable business however you look at it. I hope your account is widely read: it is very moving and illustrates the real world better than any fiction. Thank you for sharing it.
