As a person with a disability that occasionally causes me to collapse (usually in really convenient places like a car park or a shopping centre with plenty of spectators) I would like to add that applying water also makes the bystanders/first aiders feel better. For some reason they're incapable of hearing the words "I'm fine really, this just happens sometimes, my doctor is quite aware, I don't need an ambulance, I'd just like to go about my business now please..." and positively insist on actively doing *something*, even if it doesn't need to be done.
