No matter what happens to this kid, you made an effort with him and that commands respect. I get the feeling that his romantic ideas are all in his head, but if he makes a prat of himself pretending a heroin 'lifestyle' then that's so much better than killing his life on junk. Hopefully you'll have helped sway his decision in a positive way, but if not, you did a lot more than most would.
